Zip doc of learning #2

What is a specific source of information you have found valuable in answering your inquiry question? How has it proved valuable? Explain:   One of the most valuable sources I have found are online lessons for people going into advertising, such as this, http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/lesson_images/lesson1166/PersuasiveTechniques.pdf Often times, other sources are themed around “How advertisers trick you!” or “sneaky advertising tricks”. When researching with these sites, it is hard to find opinions that aren’t negatively themed. It is important to remember that advertising is a job, and an interesting one at that.  We can’t always view advertisements as these evil things, they are just another form of media. Yes, they are a media source that tries to convince you to buy their product and it is true that they often support idealistic views, but it is always important to see both sides of a story.

    Leah,

I am glad to see that you are consulting online lessons and not trying to reinvent the wheel in your research. What specific websites or articles have helped you so far? Please elaborate on your research in case someone in the future has a similar question that they are looking for the answer to. Links and explanations of the sources would be great to help add to a body of work for future TALONS classes.

    Thank you
